Barry Perowne : ウィキペディア英語版 | Barry Perowne Barry Perowne, born in the New Forest area of Wiltshire, England, was a pseudonym of the British writer Philip Atkey (25 June 1908 – 24 December 1985), best known for his crime fiction. He was educated at St John's College, Portsmouth.〔''Cradled In History: the History of St John's College'' by Michael Magan, 1974, 〕 Another pseudonym he used was Pat Merriman and he also published books under his own name. By agreement with the E W Hornung Estate, he continued the A. J. Raffles series after its creator E. W. Hornung's death, as well as other stories with his own characters. He married his uncle's daughter in 1933 and the marriage produced a daughter before it ended in divorce in 1948. He joined the Army in 1940 and served three years in the infantry and three years in the Intelligence Corps. ==References==
